About Jacquelyn and her campaign
Hi I’m Jacquelyn and I am a mom, athlete, and IBD warrior.
I’ve had Ulcerative Colitis for 11 years and while most of those years were easily managed, they’re not so easily managed anymore. With my health working against me more than it ever has, I have found that being optimistic, paving my own path in life, not letting IBD define me as being sickly, and moving forward is the only way to move past a tough point in life. It’s the only way to make me feel empowered!
Thank you for following my fitness journey and for supporting my fundraising campaign for I GOT LEGS, and their mission of ReEnabling the lives of the disabled community.
I GOT LEGS! Do You?
Ulcerative colitis is a chronic disease of the large intestine in which the lining of the colon becomes inflamed, and develops tiny open sores, or ulcers, that produce puss and mucous. The combination of inflammation, and ulceration can cause abdominal discomfort, and frequent emptying of the colon.
Ulcerative colitis is the result of an abnormal response by your body’s immune system.
Everyday I feel stronger. I have been trying to keep my thoughts positive, and not worrying, about my health or what’s to come. All I can do is live in the now. What can I do right now that’ll help my body in the long run!
